This restaurant is one of the most well-known and longstanding Italian spots for locals in St. Louis. Their pastas are flavorful and satisfying. While it's moderately expensive, the portions are generous. We highly recommend the Fungi Lumache appetizer and have enjoyed all the pastas we've tried so far. Service was generally attentive, and our server did a fantastic job. However, some staff members--though well-intentioned--checked in too frequently, asking if we were finished and needed boxes at least four times within a short period. This made our dining experience feel a bit rushed, even though the restaurant was busy but not at full capacity (with no one waiting for a table at 7:15 PM on a Friday). We'll definitely return, but we may opt for a smaller group next time to ensure a more relaxed experience.

The service was phenomenal from the moment we arrived. The chef came out to make sure the food was to our liking. This was the best Italian meal I've ever had. It was a very romantic setting by the wine cellar.

It's been awhile since I've been to Frank Papas just because of so many other restaurants being closed, and out of sight, out of mind. When I have gone, the food was excellent, and the ambience is cozy. Italian is not my natural ' go to' type of food, but I do enjoy their menu.

I feel bad that I did not get more photos of this experience, but the drink was amazing. Also chef Rob, kudos to him for being a great chef, and also coming in where Shazam failed when I was trying to figure out a Bob Dylan song they were playing My wife and I had a break from the kids for only a few hours, came here had a phenomenal experience and we will for sure be back. Everything was incredible, I'm looking forward to trying out the entire menu. The fact that they have a steak with provel on top is just chef's kiss. Great interior, service was awesome, chef also was amazing in Parks and Rec. Not sure what else you could want. Til next time.

My wife and her group of friends, about 10 of us made reservations on a Friday night. It's in a very unassuming building so you can definitely l miss it. The ambiance is amazing for a date night, but not too upscale because we came in in sweats, jeans, baseball caps, etc. and it was fine. We all had various orders and not one complaint. My wife had the chicken fettuccini and besides some salt and pepper the flavor was delicious and the sauce was plenty. Pasta cooked to perfection. My seafood pasta was also excellent. It all tasted authentic. You can tell it was all homemade. Our server, Patrick, was awesome from beginning to end. He was patient, helpful and attentive the entire night. We will definitely be back.

Decided to celebrate our 4 year anniversary here after hearing about so many rave reviews from our friends and we were not disappointed! We went Wednesday night around 6pm. I had heard so many great things so I called in to make a reservation two weeks prior and there were no issues. There's side parking as well as parking in the back. They open at 5pm so there were already a few tables taken and the longer we were there, the place filled up QUICK. However, this never affected the service and there were only two servers when we went. Everyone was attentive, friendly, informative, but gave us our space as well. It was the perfect balance. Order: * Bruschetta * Fettuccine Con Pollo Alla Panna * One of the specials -- Chicken pesto with vegetables (but in Italian) Of course there was bread for the table, but let's be honest I inhaled that. The Bruschetta was three pieces, I ate 1.5 and didn't think I had it in me to touch the pasta because I was so full, but I did because it looked so good, there was no self control that evening. There were led candles at each table, with rustic Italian throughout. The table we were seated at was beneath a pergola with fairy lights, very romantic. We enjoy people watching and was very fascinated to hear that Frank Papa's has never nor will they ever own a microwave when discussing the time a dish should be coming out to them. Come on sir, this isn't a fast food place by any means lol When we received our main course everything was piping HOT! WE LOVE IT! And everything looked so good, I couldn't wait to dig in. I may have burnt my tongue a few times, but totally worth it. The fettuccine was different from any other I've tried since it comes with a light sauce. I never realized how heavy everyone else's was until I came here. The chicken was seasoned to perfection, the bottom of the dish though has some bigger pieces of peppercorn that had me reaching for my glass of water, but no choking! There was no way we could finish that all in one night so we had leftovers. We were pleasantly surprised by the amount of detail that went into our to-go boxes. I LOVE that they were labeled! The next day (today) I was able to have my boyfriend's leftovers and agree that the dish was great the day after so I can only image how much better it was straight out of the kitchen!
